In keeping with its identity and purpose, the RAQ is also custodian of a fascinating 300-year-old artifact of Islamic historical interest: namely, an original hand-written copy of Al-Qur’an dating from 18th Century China’s Qing Dynasty. This ancient and precious Qur’an is presented in 30 separate leather-bound volumes, one for each juz, and is symbolic of the both the multi-national/multi-cultural nature of Al-Qur’an and the consistency over time of its divine message.
